The School of Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position. This role is for individuals with an established program of research or scholarship that aligns with the missions of the School of Nursing and UAB. Candidates must possess a well-identified, high-priority research focus area, a proven track record of success in securing external research funding, and a history of data-based, peer-reviewed research publications and presentations. A research doctorate, a defined research focus, and strong potential for a funded research program are required. Post-doctoral fellows are encouraged to apply. The rank, tenure, and salary will be competitive and commensurate with professional background and experience. Faculty may choose varying degrees of emphasis on teaching, service, and scholarship components of their role. This is not a remote position. The UAB School of Nursing is a leader in integrating research, education, and clinical practice, with a strong legacy and a large alumni network. It is ranked among the top nursing schools nationally and offers a wide range of innovative programs, including the state's oldest PhD in Nursing and various DNP and MSN options. The School is a WHO Collaborating Centre for International Nursing, hosts a Peace Corps Fellows Program, and is a leading VA Nursing Academic Partnership. Situated within UAB's Academic Health Science Center, it is a hub for collaborative science and has a dedicated nursing research initiative focusing on health equity, oncology, palliative care, HIV/AIDS, pediatrics, occupational health, and aging. Faculty hold numerous appointments in university-wide research centers. The School also features state-of-the-art simulation and skills laboratories for hands-on clinical learning experiences.
