The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Washington is seeking to fill two (2) faculty positions at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor. The anticipated start date is July 2027. The department is looking for individuals committed to excellence in research, teaching, and service within a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will be appointed on a full-time basis for a twelve-month academic appointment, with an initial 3-year term that is renewable at the rank of Assistant Professor. The positions are proposed for appointment to the full-time faculty as an Assistant, Associate, or full Professor without tenure by reason of funding on the regular track (Clinician-Teacher or Clinician-Scientist). Academic appointments will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period, with one month available for paid time off. The successful candidate will primarily focus on clinical duties with protected time allocated for scholarly activity. The specific disease site specialization will be determined by departmental needs, candidate interests, and approval by the Chair. The Department of Radiation Oncology offers a mentorship program for junior faculty and supports professional development. Faculty are expected to contribute to the department's mission in clinical care, research, education, and equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). Faculty practice across several partner institutions, including Fred Hutch Cancer Center (Proton Center, South Lake Union Cancer Clinic, Peninsula/Poulsbo Cancer Center, FHCC Northwest Hospital), University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle Children's Hospital, Harborview Medical Center, and VA Puget Sound. The department utilizes a comprehensive range of radiation oncology modalities, including proton therapy, neutron therapy, Gamma Knife radiosurgery, LDR and HDR brachytherapy, IORT, intravascular brachytherapy, and SBRT. All University of Washington faculty are expected to engage in teaching, research, and service.
