About The Position

The Biomedical Engineering Department (BME) at the University of Delaware (UD) is seeking a tenure-track/tenured professor with a research focus in Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP). This is an open-rank search, specifically targeting candidates with demonstrated leadership and administrative experience. The role involves research, teaching, and service, with a significant component being the Director of the new M.S. program in Quantitative Systems Pharmacology, which launched in 2025. The ideal candidate will conduct research in QSP, teach graduate-level QSP classes, and potentially undergraduate classes in related subjects. As Director, they will be responsible for program growth and development through industry engagement and research. The vision for the QSP program includes increasing M.S. class sizes, developing 4+1 degree offerings, creating online/certificate programs, building relationships with pharmaceutical companies, QSP professional societies, and the FDA for internships and research projects, establishing a pipeline for Ph.D. students, and leveraging QSP expertise to support existing departmental research. To achieve these goals, the candidate should enhance visibility and reputation in QSP, utilize their network for relationship building, teach existing QSP classes, develop new ones, and expand the QSP research portfolio.
