About The Position

This is a full-time position in the Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Clinical responsibilities will be carried out at Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) Anschutz campus, the Children's Hospital of Colorado Network of Care, and in the well-baby nurseries and NICUs at community hospitals. The Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is expanding and aims to provide exemplary family-centered care, seamless communication to referring providers, education for fellows, residents, medical students, and advanced practice provider students, and scholarship in areas impacting inpatient pediatric care. Faculty members have a strong clinical focus, with many pursuing research in education and clinical hospital medicine, and also serve in administrative capacities.

Requirements

  • BC/BE in General Pediatrics or Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
  • Completion of pediatric residency training.
  • Minimum of 0-3 years of experience in general pediatrics or hospital medicine (for Instructor rank).
  • Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in general pediatrics or hospital medicine (for Sr. Instructor rank).
  • Minimum of 1-8 years of experience in general pediatrics or hospital medicine (for Assistant Professor rank).
  • Proven administrative experience in the field of pediatric hospital medicine.
  • Sustained clinical experience in pediatric hospital medicine.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Care of pediatric patients admitted to general pediatric wards or observation units at the Children’s Hospital Colorado and its Network of Care.
  • Care of patients admitted to the surgical co-management hospitalist service.
  • Serving in the role of “Safety Officer” for inpatients, including responding to deteriorating patients on the acute care medical/surgical units.
  • Spending several days each month tending to non-clinical duties such as teaching, quality improvement/research and administrative obligations.
  • Administrative responsibilities may include input into hospital and clinic systems, committee works and projects aimed at improving the hospital medicine service and clinical mission.
