The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking an open-rank, tenure-track faculty member for the Child and Adolescent Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program (CHAAMP). This role is a priority for the department and is supported by the Foundation of Hope, which aids in advancing youth mental health research. CHAAMP is a multidisciplinary clinical research program dedicated to the prevention, assessment, and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders in youth. Faculty engage in diverse research, including neuroimaging and clinical trials, with a focus on team science, external funding, and community partnerships. The successful candidate will lead an externally funded research program focused on preventing and treating youth mental health issues, particularly in school-age children (K-8). Research interests may include risk factors for co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, community-based participatory research, mental health research in rural and underserved communities, and the development, evaluation, implementation, and dissemination of evidence-based prevention and intervention programs. This position offers significant opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation within a supportive research environment. CHAAMP investigators possess expertise in developmental cognitive neuroscience, clinical trials, prevention and implementation science, community-engaged research, digital technologies, and mobile health. The Foundation of Hope provides flexible philanthropic support for pilot data, new research directions, funding gaps, and protected time for scholarship, aiding in securing federal funding. In addition to research leadership, the faculty member will mentor trainees and staff, contributing to CHAAMP's training and professional development culture.
