About The Position

The Division of Medical Oncology is seeking an MD to practice primarily at Highlands Ranch Medical Center, with some coverage at Lone Tree Medical Center and Cherry Creek Medical Center. The role involves inpatient rounding 2-4 days per week at Highlands Ranch Hospital, supported by an APP. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated team player committed to a strong work ethic, contributing to a program focused on delivering high-quality, multidisciplinary hematology and oncology care with cutting-edge technology and clinical trials in a community setting. The Highlands Ranch Medical Center is a comprehensive facility offering on-site infusion, blood bank, diagnostic laboratory, radiology services, a breast center, and various surgical and gastroenterology specialties. It is connected to a 75-bed hospital where oncology patients are admitted with the assistance of a hospitalist team.

Requirements

  • Licensed MD or DO from accredited Institution
  • Board certified in Oncology or Hematology
  • 4-8+ years’ experience in Community setting in Medical Oncology (for Associate Professor level)

  • 1 or more years’ experience in Community setting in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution

Responsibilities

  • Clinical work seeing patients daily and covering the infusion center on a rotating basis during clinic days
  • Working with Oncology APPs (NPs or PAs) in clinic
  • 1:6 call coverage for community practice patients and Highlands Ranch Hospital
  • Work with Service Line Director to expand the cancer practice
  • Attend Multi-Departmental Clinics & CME conferences regularly
  • Attend oncology service line meetings and clinical trial meetings
  • Assist with investigator-initiated, cooperative group/industry trials
  • Lead and participate in clinical quality improvement projects including management of critical pathway & case management across the continuum of care
  • Team member providing healthcare, interacting with professional colleagues in a multidisciplinary fashion to provide comprehensive care as a responsible professional
  • Attend via conference call monthly Clinical Affairs meetings, weekly tumor boards, present Fellows Conference 1/year, assist with Fellows interviews
  • Work with Administrator on clinical data & other duties as assigned by Medical Director at Highlands Ranch and/or Division Head
  • Maintain accurate, legible, & confidential records using the UCH EPIC system
