About The Position

The Department of Craniofacial, Oral and Materials Sciences, a basic science department within the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, is seeking applicants with a PhD, MD/PhD, DDS/PhD (or equivalent) for an open rank tenure-track or tenured faculty position in any broadly-defined area of biomedical sciences with a research focus relevant to craniofacial and oral biology including, but not limited to, developmental, cell and molecular biology, genetics, genomics, epigenomics, regeneration, systems biology and/or data science. The new faculty member will benefit from the research-intensive, stimulating and supportive environment of outstanding colleagues across the University of Colorado Anschutz and the opportunity for collaborations within and across disciplines. The successful candidate will also join a collegial department that is highly integrated into multiple Ph.D. graduate programs across campus. The faculty member is expected to establish or bring with them an extramurally-funded research program and participate in limited dental student and graduate student teaching.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, DDS/PhD) in a field related to biology from an accredited institution.
  • Applicants must have doctoral and/or postdoctoral training within the craniofacial biology field, broadly defined.
  • Proven track record of national and/or international scholarship with recent and ongoing activity through peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
  • Applicants must have demonstrated success in obtaining extramural research funding and be currently funded.

Responsibilities

  • The faculty member is expected to establish or bring an extramurally-funded research program.
  • Faculty will participate in limited dental student teaching and mentoring to graduate students.
  • Attend and present at meetings and training to enhance professional skills and participate in faculty development activities.
