About The Position

The Cardiovascular Recovery (CVR), also known as Open Heart Recovery or CVR, is a six-bed unit offering intensive recovery rooms and critical care services to the immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patient. This is a part-time position with 24 hours per week, consisting of two 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. A sign-on bonus is available for experienced Cardiac or Open Heart Nurses.

Requirements

• Active Kentucky RN License
• BCLS Required
• ACLS Required

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in open heart recovery, critical care or equivalent experience is desired

Responsibilities

• Recover patients post operatively.
• Assess and identify patient needs and implement appropriate interventions for the critical cardiac patient.
• Establish and maintain a plan for the delivery of nursing care.
• Assure that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems.
• Perform technical aspects of care competently.
• Act as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient’s cardiac journey.
