About The Position

Montgomery College, Germantown Campus, is seeking candidates for a Temporary Open Gym Supervisor in the Department of Health Enhancement, Exercise Science and Physical Education. The primary responsibility of this role is to help supervise the Recreation/Fitness Program open to students, faculty and staff. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, and any combination of education, training and experience providing understanding of the field and ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Fitness Certification from an NCCA accredited organization such as: American College of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise, The Cooper Institute, National Academy of Sports Medicine, National strength and Conditioning Association
  • CPR/AED certification
  • Experience in fitness instruction - group and/or individual
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of a fingerprint/background screening is required at the time of hire.
  • For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
  • Successful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise students during designated Open Gym hours.
  • Enforce rules and regulations of the Open Gym program.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records for the program.
  • Effectively communicate and work with all faculty, staff and students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
