About The Position

Shakepay is seeking Bitcoiners who want to help usher in the bitcoin golden age. The company's mission is to build the easiest, most trusted way for Canadians to own bitcoin and foster a better relationship with money. They are looking for individuals with high agency, strong taste, and a proven track record of making things better, even if they don't fit neatly into a predefined role. Shakepay is a bitcoin company dedicated to a future where more Canadians save, think, and plan differently, believing that Bitcoin offers a superior savings mechanism compared to the fiat monetary system.

Requirements

  • Based in Canada
  • Deep conviction in bitcoin as the future of money
  • A track record of ownership, execution, and independent thinking
  • Comfort with ambiguity, small teams, and high accountability
  • Fluency in English

  • Believe bitcoin is the best form of money, not just another asset
  • Care about self-custody, running a node, and long-term adoption
  • Have high agency and a bias toward action
  • Can hold a strong point of view without needing a title to make it count

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the mission of advancing Bitcoin adoption.
  • Build, ship, fix, or improve aspects of Shakepay.
  • Make Shakepay better by identifying opportunities and proposing solutions.
  • Execute on ideas and initiatives without waiting for explicit permission.
