About The Position

UPMC University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time OP Nurse Coordinator I to join their Magee Womens Surgical Associates office at UPMC Magee Women's Hospital! Magee Womens Surgical Associates provides care to patients by removing cancer and non-cancerous tumors of the breast. The Outpatient Nurse Coordinator is a Registered Nurse that is a member of the care delivery team. The Outpatient Nurse Coordinator is responsible for obtaining medical information, providing education to patients, and assisting surgeon with all other aspects of perioperative care coordination. Hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays required! This position will primarily work out of our Magee office, but some travel to our West Mifflin location will be required to support staffing needs, as needed.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years nursing experience.
Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.
CPR Certification
Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

UPMC approved national certification preferred.
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Previous experience working in an oncology or surgical setting is preferred but not required.

Accountable for outpatient treatment follow up necessary for patient to maintain health in between outpatient visits.
Serves as primary nursing resource to patient caseload.
Facilitates necessary services outside of the healthcare facility, interacts with homecare and other support services.
