About The Position

This role is responsible for operating and maintaining the pasteurization and chocolate mixing processes within the production facility. The operator will ensure adherence to safety, quality, and production standards, manage equipment settings, monitor processes, and collaborate with team members to achieve daily targets. Key responsibilities include safety checks, preparing for operations, addressing production issues, documenting processes, and maintaining a clean work environment.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

  • One-year related experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Put on all required PPE and Safety Gear, perform a safety check on equipment and insure safety devices are functioning properly.
  • Obtain work schedule and daily production, risk predictions, from scheduler, prioritize work and prepare for operations.
  • Answer telephones, e-mails, voice mail and act on, address and resolve / production issues and concerns.
  • Complete Shift Hand Off- (Show), communicate with prior and/or relieving operator to discuss any line issues.
  • Ensure safety devices are working within normal operating specifications and log all information in appropriate database.
  • Ensure that all E-Stops, Machine and People Guards and like devices have be tested and are operational according to Bakersfield Operations Center (BOC), Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) minimum requirements.
  • Report to assigned workstation, obtain proper tools / utensils and verify recipe, ingredients and record lot numbers as required.
  • Set machine controls to proper settings in accordance with the work order, recipe and the product to be processed.
  • Check production schedule and use computer controls to pump bulk liquid ingredients from holding tanks to dry blend mixer to formulate batches.
  • Monitor the process, take samples / test and email results to lab, complete quality checks, visually check mix batch operation and make adjustments.
  • Document production for each run; turn in batch and ingredient sheets as required.
  • Enter data into appropriate database (Quality /SAP / Globe), as required.
  • Rotate with Mix / Dry Blender / Receiver as scheduled or directed, and complete CIP cycle as scheduled.
  • Keep work area clear and clean, place trash in proper receptacles and clean test equipment and containers as required.
  • At end of shift, secure all equipment, complete all required paperwork, perform general housekeeping as required.
