About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Onsite Lab Support Clerk to join our team in Will provide “out” coverage for branch and several hospitals in Kentucky and southern Indiana. The position, Hospital Reference Test Clerk, will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment located onsite with one of our client offices. This role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to handle biological specimens. The ideal candidate is organized, accountable, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure accuracy in healthcare testing.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1 year or more experience in laboratory or accessioning or data entry or manufacturing
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Able to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years’ old

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Communicate effectively with client office staff
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
• Do spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client
