About The Position

Medcor is seeking an EMT, Paramedic, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a PRN Onsite Health Technician at our employer-based occupational health clinic in Topeka, KS. This is a great opportunity for healthcare professionals looking for flexible, supplemental work outside traditional EMS, hospital, or long-term care settings. Requirements

  • Current EMT, Paramedic, or LPN certification/licensure valid for practice in Kansas.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and making sound clinical decisions within your scope of practice.
  • Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation systems.
  • Ability to lift and carry a 50-pound emergency response bag.
  • Availability to support PRN shifts based on business and staffing needs.
  • A patient-first mindset and commitment to providing exceptional care.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in occupational health, workplace medicine, or an onsite clinic.
  • Experience in emergency medicine, EMS, urgent care, nursing, or a similar clinical environment.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation, injury management, or return-to-work programs.
  • Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing and treating workplace injuries and illnesses within your scope of practice and Medcor's established clinical protocols.
  • Providing first aid, medical triage, and appropriate emergency response when needed.
  • Supporting workers' compensation case management and return-to-work programs.
  • Performing occupational health screenings, including pre-employment and post-offer evaluations.
  • Assisting with employee health, safety, and wellness initiatives.
  • Documenting patient encounters accurately using Medcor's electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Coordinating care and communicating with outside medical providers when appropriate.
  • Building positive relationships with employees, client leadership, and Medcor's clinical and operations teams.
  • Helping maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming clinic environment.
