This role involves AD-HOC Project style support, including mini projects such as installs on multiple machines (patching from failed pushes, or requests of 10+ software installs or installs of other sorts), coordinating project style work like Polycom refreshes, request for meeting setups and special support requests and any ad-hoc style requests from the client. The technician will spend time between 2 locations, Long Harbour and St. John’s office, when requested. The role interfaces with end users to resolve complex problems concerning system function which have been escalated through a problem ticket process, assesses diagnostic information and determines alternative courses of action, and recommends and implements process changes. The technician will coordinate and/or conduct install, move, add, and change (ICMS) activities based for complex activities including integrated equipment and systems, create plans to implement changes and work with appropriate parties to ensure implementation is meeting expected timeframes, service level agreements and other criteria, and measure, maintain, and document team performance in relation to established goals, time frames and service levels, revising plans as necessary. The role provides technical services in support of project work; works with project teams to develop, engineer, and implement defined technical activities, such as distributing new personal computers, in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. Additionally, the technician provides guidance and training to client population on system and products to eliminate recurring errors for systems/products, escalates issues or concerns as appropriate, and recommends changes to procedures and processes, implementing them as approved. The technician must maintain currency regarding technological, process and/or other advances, specifically in line of service, to ensure team performance and to achieve team objectives. The role also involves creating and maintaining systems software and hardware documentation and assessing system information where appropriate.
