About The Position

This role demonstrates supervisory qualities by working cooperatively with management and caregivers. The position assists in planning, organizing, and evaluating resources (personnel, equipment, supplies, and processes) to meet the mission, goals, and objectives of Heritage at Falmouth, ensuring optimal service provision to customers. The role involves implementing clinical and technical aspects of care, administering medications, and providing direct resident care, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). A key aspect is supervising staff responsible for resident, staff, and visitor needs, ensuring a systematic and logical approach. The position requires adherence to all safety, infection control, and emergency protocols, including Universal Precautions and proper use of PPE. The role also involves driving a Heritage vehicle for errands and transportation, and performing other duties as requested to meet facility needs. A strong commitment to service excellence, embodying compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and service (CARES), is expected in all interactions.

Requirements

High School degree
Must be certified CNA or HHA.
CPR/AED Certified
Heimlich Certified
Must possess basic computer, telephone and radio skills.
Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Must have a current MA Driver's License

Responsibilities

Demonstrates supervisory qualities by working cooperatively with management and caregivers.
Assists in planning and organizing resources (personnel, equipment, supplies, and processes) toward the attainment of Heritage’s mission, goals and objectives, including the optimum provision of services to customers.
Assists in evaluating, planning and providing nursing care to residents.
Implements clinical and technical aspects of care and nursing orders in accordance with established policies/procedures and maintains full compliance with all government laws and regulations regarding the delivery of the resident care.
Administers prescribed medications and documents same according to Heritage at Falmouth guidelines and regulations.
Functions within limits of Nursing Statutes and Regulations of the Commonwealth of MA and Heritage policies and procedures.
Provides direct care to residents with nursing needs and assists with the ADL needs of residents.
Completes documentation and reports according to prescribed Heritage policy and procedure.
Informs Management regarding conditions of residents and/or other pertinent observations.
Supervises staff whose responsibilities are to attend to resident/staff/visitor needs in a systematic and logical manner.
Reports all accidents/incidents to management.
Understands and adheres to established fire, disaster, emergency and employee safety programs.
Adheres to Universal Precautions and Infection Control Policies, including following established hand washing procedures, use of appropriate PPE and supplies when handling infectious materials, following established policies governing the use/disposal of PPE and disposal of infectious wastes.
Wears and/or uses safety equipment and supplies and uses proper body mechanics while performing duties (e.g., back brace, mechanical lifts, etc. when moving or lifting heavy objects).
Reports to work in compliance with work schedules and assignments, and demonstrates versatility and/or willingness to cover various functions and shifts, weekends and holidays, and during emergency conditions.
Drive Heritage vehicle for errands, transporting, or other uses as directed.
Performs other job-related duties as requested by the Executive Director and/or designee to meet the needs of the residents and the facility.
