About The Position

Littera Education is hiring part-time, W-2 online tutors for the Fall 2026 semester. Tutors provide Reading and/or Math instruction to students through Littera’s virtual tutoring platform, supporting partner K–12 schools and districts. The curriculum, platform, and scheduling infrastructure are provided, so tutors do not need to prepare lessons or commute. Tutors work with small groups of 1–3 students and are expected to show up consistently, build connections with students, and support academic outcomes.

The role is fully remote and offers supplemental income of up to $22.50 per tutored hour, calculated as $18 base pay multiplied by 1.25 paid administrative time, with bi-weekly W-2 paychecks. Training is paid, and Littera covers the background check and fingerprinting. Hours may vary according to student enrollment and client needs and are not guaranteed; the role offers up to 25 hours per week. Applicants must live and work in an eligible U.S. state and be able to maintain a reliable weekly schedule. The advertised tutoring availability is Monday through Thursday, 5:00–8:00 PM EST; the posting also describes remote work Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Applicants must be based in the United States and live and work in one of the listed eligible states.
• Availability Monday through Thursday, 5:00–8:00 PM EST, and ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule; hours may fluctuate and schedules may change.
• Experience or strong knowledge in Reading, Math, Algebra, or ESL/ELL.
• Ability to work with diverse learners by adapting instruction and tutoring with care.
• Ability to use virtual tools including video, audio, screen sharing, whiteboard, and chat.
• Ability to pass a required background check.
• Laptop or desktop computer; Chrome browser is recommended.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection.
• Quiet work space with an educational or blank background.
• Ability to communicate effectively through the tutoring platform, interpret on-screen materials in real time, and deliver live instructional support.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support during live, scheduled tutoring sessions.
• Tutor Reading and/or Math, including relevant subject areas such as Algebra or ESL/ELL, according to student needs and provided lesson materials.
• Communicate effectively with students using Littera’s virtual tutoring platform.
• Read and interpret on-screen lesson materials in real time.
• Build genuine connections with students and create a motivating learning environment.
• Adapt tutoring approaches and offer encouragement to diverse learners.
• Maintain consistent attendance and a reliable weekly schedule.
