About The Position

We are hiring an Organic Chemistry tutor for 1-on-1 online classes with a single university-level student preparing for NEET, MCAT, and AIIMS-style medical entrance exams. You will lead a focused mechanism-and-problems curriculum across the typical med-entrance OChem syllabus — from hybridization and stereochemistry through to named reactions, retrosynthesis, and qualitative analysis. This is a part-time, freelance hourly role with consistent weekly hours.

Requirements

  • M.Sc., M.Phil., or Ph.D. in Chemistry (Organic Chemistry specialization strongly preferred).
  • 2–3 years of 1-on-1 or small-group tutoring experience at +2 / undergraduate level.
  • Fluent spoken and written English — MANDATORY, not preferred. We will assess this in screening.
  • Own a digital writing tablet (Wacom, XP-Pen, iPad + Apple Pencil, or equivalent) for live mechanism drawing.
  • Stable broadband connection and a quiet teaching environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior coaching experience for NEET / AIIMS / MCAT (or equivalent med-entrance exams).
  • Familiarity with Morrison & Boyd, Solomons, Clayden, and NCERT Part I & II.
  • Experience designing retrosynthesis problem sets.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose the student's current grasp of mechanisms (SN1/SN2/E1/E2, electrophilic addition, aromatic substitution) and build a 12-week skill path from there.
  • Teach reaction mechanisms with electron-pushing arrows on a digital tablet, not just verbally — every session ends with the student drawing the mechanism unaided.
  • Run weekly stereochemistry and reasoning drills: chirality, R/S, E/Z, optical isomerism, conformational analysis.
  • Curate problem sets from NCERT, Morrison & Boyd, Solomons, and previous-year NEET/AIIMS papers — assign 5–10 problems between every session.
  • Track weekly progress in a shared sheet (concept mastery, error patterns, exam-style timing).

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate, negotiable based on qualifications and med-entrance experience.
  • Paid weekly.
