About The Position

Education Unlimited is seeking Online Mock Trial Instructors for a two-week summer program in 2026. This role involves leading online classes via Zoom and Google Classroom for small cohorts of 8-12 students. The curriculum, covering the structure of court systems, civil and criminal trials, legal arguments, and rules of evidence, will be provided. Instructors will guide students through mock trials, including opening statements, witness examination, evidence introduction, and closing arguments. Past programs have included guest speakers and simulated client interviews. The ideal candidate is passionate about law, teaching, leadership, and communication, with a proven ability to connect with and enthuse young people.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience teaching, leading, coaching, or participating in mock trial.
  • A practicing attorney, former practicing attorney, or legal expert.
  • Proven ability to lead small or large groups.
  • A calm and professional demeanor.
  • The willingness and ability to work long hours.
  • Self-motivation and follow-through.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Strong public speaking skills.
  • A passion for education.
  • Reliable computer and internet connection (for online instructors).

  • Preference given to candidates willing to live on campus and assist with dorm supervision (for on-campus roles).

Responsibilities

  • Lead online classes via Zoom and Google Classroom with cohorts of approximately 8-12 students.
  • Teach daily seminars and workshops.
  • Manage and prep students for trial.
  • Give small lectures throughout the week.
  • Track student work and hand in deliverables to the camp director and EU home office.
  • Assist with active supervision, recreational activities, and some administrative tasks (for on-campus roles).
  • Act as mentors and help lead field trips and guide students on excursions (for on-campus roles).
  • Ensure the health and safety of students in conjunction with the entire staff (for on-campus roles).
