About The Position
QUT Online is seeking Online Learning Advisers (OLAs) to support students in Micro & Macro Economics. OLAs are subject matter experts who facilitate student learning, focusing on helping them achieve their goals and experience high-quality, positive learning. This role involves facilitating engaging learning activities, marking assessments with constructive feedback, and maintaining communication with students via discussion boards, emails, and live sessions.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Masters degree in Economics or related discipline
- 1-4 years industry experience
- Strong level of familiarity with Australia’s fiscal and monetary policies
- Located in Australia
Nice To Haves
- Tertiary teaching experience preferred but not essential
- Experience teaching or studying in an online environment
- Previous teaching or mentoring experience
Responsibilities
- Facilitating learning activities that engage and retain students
- Marking assessments and providing meaningful, constructive feedback
- Supporting communication through discussion boards, emails, and live sessions – ensuring visibility to students every 24-48 hours
- Collaborating with academic teams to maintain unit quality
- Upholding OES values to foster a positive team culture and student experience
