About The Position

The Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk selects and gathers products for customers’ online orders efficiently, while ensuring freshness and quality. The role assembles orders, processes coupons and payments, and delivers and loads orders into customers’ cars when they arrive for pickup. The clerk provides a positive customer service experience and demonstrates the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Working as an In-Store Grocery Shopper, the clerk initiates and completes order selection, scans and bags items while following bagging standards, and communicates substitutions or order exceptions to customers at pickup. The role receives orders from Order Selectors, stores products in appropriate temperature zones, retrieves orders from staging locations, verifies accuracy, and processes orders through the point-of-sale system. The position also involves maintaining clean and organized staging areas and equipment, following food safety procedures and applicable laws, completing opening and closing procedures, reporting discrepancies and equipment repair needs, and assisting with training new e-Commerce team members. The clerk is expected to meet productivity standards and work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment while addressing customer and business issues appropriately.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Select and gather products for customers’ online orders efficiently, ensuring freshness and quality.
Initiate and complete the selection process for online orders.
Assemble customer orders, process coupons and payments, and deliver and load orders into customers’ cars at pickup.
Scan and bag orders while following bagging standards.
Communicate substitutions and order exceptions to customers at pickup.
Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
Follow local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
Receive orders from Order Selectors and store products in optimal temperature zones.
Read and follow directions in order notes.
Communicate with customers by portable phone and respond professionally and promptly.
Retrieve orders from staging locations, ensure accuracy, and load them into customers’ cars.
Process orders through the point-of-sale system.
Follow policies and procedures for appropriate substitutions when items are out of stock.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
Report pricing, scanning, item-location, and invalid-temperature-type discrepancies to the store e-Commerce supervisor.
Inspect equipment and notify the store Pick-Up supervisor or other store management of needed repairs.
Perform required opening and closing procedures.
Assist in training new e-Commerce team members.
