About The Position

The Ongoing Care Team (OCT) Clinician is responsible for providing services to students and the University community, by offering individual and group psychotherapy/counseling, diagnostic assessment, psychological and career testing, consultation, outreach, and crisis intervention. The OCT Clinician is skilled in fostering the mental health, academic progress and career development of University students through a variety of psychotherapeutic and psycho-educational interventions.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university (for Staff Psychologist role)
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university (for Counselor role)
  • Five (5) years of clinical practice in total, including experience gained throughout the Educational training (for Staff Psychologist role)
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience in an ambulatory mental health setting (for Counselor role)
  • Licensed or license-eligible to practice psychology in the State of Maryland within 1 year from hire (for Staff Psychologist role)
  • Licensed or license-eligible as a mental health provider in the State of Maryland (for Counselor role)
  • Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) may also be considered with at least 2000 hours of post-graduate supervised clinical work and the ability to obtain a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) license within one year.
  • Knowledge of individual and group psychotherapy, counseling, diagnostic assessment, psychological and career testing, consultation, outreach, and crisis intervention.
  • Knowledge of group psychodynamics and supervision.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
