About The Position

The John F. Kennedy School is seeking an exceptional and dynamic candidate to serve as a One Year Bubble Classroom Teacher for the upcoming school year beginning in August 2026. The One Year Bubble Classroom Teacher will join a vibrant and supportive team that prioritizes collaboration, creativity, flexibility, and a strong commitment to the goals of the district, as well as to our students, families, and staff. The John F. Kennedy School is an inclusive community serving over 480 students in grades K–5. Requirements

  • Maintain Valid Massachusetts DESE teacher certification that is appropriate for the grade level and subject area.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Highly Qualified as per Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
  • Proven ability to relate to a variety of constituencies, including but not limited to: administrators, parents/guardians, teachers, students, other school staff, and visitors
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-organized with excellent leadership abilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of relevant technologies: internet and email systems; word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software; and educational software

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences and meet the needs of all learners
  • Develop lesson plans aligned with Massachusetts state standards and district-adopted, high-quality curricula that are culturally and linguistically responsive
  • Establish and communicate clear learning objectives for all instructional activities
  • Continuously engage in reflective practice regarding curricula, instruction, and culturally responsive practices
  • Create culturally and linguistically responsive classroom environment
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students to foster a culture of belonging
  • Prepare the classroom for class activities
  • Incorporate a variety of culturally and linguistically responsive learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
  • Identify, select, and implement differentiated instructional resources and methods to meet students’ varying needs based on data
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment aligned to the District approved curriculum and/or Massachusetts State Standards
  • Use relevant technology to support instruction
  • Follows and implements individual student safety plans, IEPs, 504s, health care plans, behavior support plans etc.
  • Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development using data; use data to drive decisions and adapt instruction, assessments, and assignments as appropriate
  • Provide appropriate feedback on assessments and/or student work
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students using data
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress, development, and attendance as appropriate
  • Support the social and emotional well-being of students during the school day
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom and school by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures in accordance with the student handbook
  • Participate in department and school meetings, parent/guardian meetings
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents/guardians regarding student progress and student needs
  • Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources, and methods, and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
  • Collaborate with student services staff; special educators and other related service providers
  • Performs other duties specifically articulated within the collective bargaining agreement as assigned by building principal and/or District administration
