One on One Paraprofessional
About The Position
Arkansas Arts Academy is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and student-centered Special Education Paraprofessional to join our Elementary School team. This is a one-on-one paraprofessional position providing individualized support to an elementary student throughout the school day. The paraprofessional will work closely with the student's special education teacher, classroom teachers, related service providers, and school administration to help the student successfully participate in the educational environment. The 1:1 SPED Paraprofessional will provide consistent support based on the student's individual needs and educational plan.

Responsibilities
- Providing one-on-one academic and instructional support throughout the school day
- Assisting the student with classroom assignments, activities, and accommodations
- Supporting the implementation of the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) under the direction of certified staff
- Helping the student with transitions between classrooms, activities, lunch, recess, specials, and other areas of the school
- Providing encouragement and support with social, emotional, and behavioral skills
- Assisting with behavior strategies and intervention plans as directed by the student's educational team
- Promoting independence while providing the appropriate level of assistance
- Supporting communication and interaction with teachers, classmates, and other school staff
- Assisting with mobility, personal care, or other daily needs when required by the student's individual plan
- Supervising and supporting the student to maintain a safe and positive learning environment
- Observing student progress and communicating relevant information to the supervising teacher or SPED team
- Maintaining student confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Participating as a positive and dependable member of the Elementary and Special Education teams
