About The Position
The One-on-One Assistant is assigned to provide support for a child who requires assistance throughout the day. The One-on-One assistant is a non-certificated staff member who assists students under the direction of the classroom teachers and/or certified staff to promote the student’s academic achievement, behavioral growth, socio-emotional relationships, and personal development. The One-on-One Assistant must adapt to the particular educational/therapeutic needs of the student(s).
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or a high school equivalency certification.
- Physical and mental capacity to perform the major responsibilities of the job assignment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Able to communicate effectively with students and staff.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status.
- Must be NJ resident within one year from date of hire.
