About The Position

The Oncology RN works on a 24-bed, all-private oncology unit devoted to holistic care for cancer patients and their families. The unit supports development of critical-thinking and assessment skills and provides chemotherapy administration, pain management, and specialized cancer care. Some oncology patients may require cardiac monitoring, so a basic understanding of dysrhythmias is required. A multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and massage therapists supports patients. New graduate nurses are welcome. The nurse assesses and identifies patient needs, implements appropriate interventions, establishes and maintains a plan for nursing care, and ensures care activities address identified problems. The role also performs technical aspects of care competently and serves as a resource for patients and families throughout the cancer journey. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus for experienced candidates.

Requirements

Active Kentucky RN license.
BCLS required.
Chemo/ONS certification required within 6 months.
Basic understanding of dysrhythmias is required for oncology patients who may need cardiac monitoring.
