About The Position
Ackerman Cancer Center, a pioneering leader in cancer treatment and the world's first physician-owned proton center, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Oncology Registered Nurse. The role involves providing innovative and patient-centric care with a focus on work-life balance. The Oncology Nurse is responsible and accountable for providing safe and competent direct and indirect nursing care for ACC patients, acting as a direct caregiver and patient educator.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) experience in a clinical setting
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Florida Registered Nursing License
- BLS/ACLS Certifications
- Strong patient care skills
- Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Provide general nursing care for assigned patients.
- Monitor the medical conditions of cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy.
- Assess clinical needs and manage medications.
- Assist with consultations with physicians regarding patient care.
- Provide patient and family education regarding radiation therapy and possible side effects of cancer treatment.
- Assist in patient assessment and intervention.
- Manage patient navigation and follow-up activities.
- Perform accurate phone triage to the correct department for patients.
- Administer injections per oncology physician request.
- Respond to patient requests in the KAIKU portal and via phone triage.
- Responsible for all Genomic test orders.
- Obtain prior authorization for specialty medications.
