The Staff Pad is proud to partner with a leading healthcare provider in Helena, MT to hire a compassionate and skilled Oncology Registered Nurse (RN). The Oncology RN delivers high-quality, holistic, family-centered care by utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This role provides direct and indirect care to oncology patients while demonstrating compassion, professionalism, and clinical excellence.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to perform successfully as an Oncology Registered Nurse
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current Montana Registered Nurse license required
  • BLS certification required
  • Completion of a Chemotherapy/Oncology course and competency to administer chemotherapy required within 6–12 months of hire
  • Strong critical thinking, organization, and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to patient care
  • Adaptable and flexible in a changing clinical environment
  • Able to manage deadlines, challenging situations, and multiple priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Previous oncology nursing experience preferred, with a strong commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-focused care
  • Oncology Nursing Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered oncology nursing care
  • Assess, prioritize, and respond to patients' physical and psychosocial needs
  • Administer chemotherapy safely with thorough knowledge of medications, administration methods, and handling procedures
  • Educate patients and families on chemotherapy, side effects, medication management, body image changes, and safe handling of body fluids
  • Provide emotional support for patients and families throughout treatment, including end-of-life care
  • Communicate patient status and clinical changes effectively with physicians and the care team
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for new or less experienced nurses
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition
  • Perform general nursing duties in other departments as needed with appropriate supervision
