Requirements

Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion, required
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to operate and excel in a healthcare environment with many inherent stressors.

Nice To Haves

Prior Oncology RN work experience and certification, preferred

Responsibilities

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
Evaluates the needs of the patient and/or family and provides support, appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Collaborates, as needed, across disciplines to coordinate appropriate patient services.
Effectively delegates to ancillary personnel.
May precept nursing students or new hires.
Executes the plan of care for the oncology patient including medication administration and symptom management.
Communicates patient condition as appropriate.
