Key Responsibilities Examines patients and establishes diagnoses by patient history, physical examination, and other criteria in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Provides appropriate patient instruction and/or consultation with family or significant other, as needed. Orders, performs, and interprets laboratory, radiographic, and other diagnostic tests. Identifies, develops, implements, and evaluates a patient centered plan of care to promote, maintain and restore health. Offers counseling and education to meet patient needs. Prescribes, dispenses, and administers medication according to applicable Federal and State statutes, rules, and regulations. Refers and consults with appropriate health care providers. Complies with all regulatory, organizational, and departmental statutes, policies, and procedures. Documents patient charts accurately and timely. Attends and actively participates in committees, staff meetings, and marketing activities. Have a caring, positive attitude. Delegates appropriately to support staff. Ability to communicate effectively with others. Ability to maintain attention to detail. Clinic Specific Responsibilities: Develops and maintains oncology and hematology knowledge to treat patients safely and accurately with the most current oncology/hematology evidenced-based practices. Collaborates well with all members of oncology team.
