The Oncology Nurse role assumes the responsibility and accountability for providing safe and competent direct and indirect nursing care for ACC patients in accordance with established policies, standards, and practices. Also maintains the position of direct caregiver and patient educator.

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) experience in a clinical setting
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current Florida Registered Nursing License
BLS/ACLS Certifications
Strong patient care skills
Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

General nursing care for assigned patients
Monitoring of medical conditions of cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy
Assessment of clinical needs & medication management
Assistance with consultations with physicians regarding patient care
Provision of patient & family education regarding radiation therapy and possible side effects of cancer treatment
Assistance in patient assessment & intervention
Management of patient navigation and follow up activities
Accurate phone triage to the correct department for patients
Administer injection per oncology physician request
Respond to patients request in KAIKU portal and phone triage
Responsible for all Genomic test orders
Obtaining prior authorization for specialty medications
