Key Position Details: Casual (0.0 FTE) 8 or 10- hour day shifts No weekends Minimum of 2 shifts per month required Float to metro sites, including Minneapolis and Coon Rapids based on staffing needs in accordance with the MNA Contract; opportunity to pick up sifts at all three sites.

Requirements

Associate's or Vocational degree in Nursing
1+ years of ambulatory oncology RN experience with proficient IV insertion skills; or 3+ years inpatient chemotherapy/biotherapy infusion or ICU experience
ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Provider Card required upon completion of Allina onboarding, within 30 days of hire
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) from the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation must be obtained within 3 years of hire required for those hired before April 1, 2024; for those hired on/after April 1, 2024, must obtain within 30 months
Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association OR Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross OR Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

1+ years experience EPIC EMR, including Beacon application

Responsibilities

Manages patient care infusion encounters by utilizing a systematic approach to nursing practice that includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary hematology/oncology care team members, along with internal and external ancillary partners, in a fast-paced environment.
Dedicated to the growth and development of the Allina Health Cancer Institute, incorporating evidence-based practice initiatives that align with ONS, NCCN, COC, and organizational standards of care.
Delivery of chemotherapy, biotherapy and supportive care to hematology/oncology patients in accordance with Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards, and Allina Health Cancer Institute Policy.
Completes Patient Assessment and Education.
Collaborates with health care team in order to coordinate and maintain continuity of care.
Administrative tasks including indirect nursing activities which promote quality patient care.
Documentation of care per Allina Health Cancer Institute policies and practice.
Maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients
Complies with research protocols.
Other duties as assigned.
