About The Position

The Oncology Federal Account Manager will be a subject matter expert across the Veteran Health Administration (VA) and DoD Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) within a targeted geography. This role is pivotal in delivering AstraZeneca’s groundbreaking science and commercial capabilities to pharmacy and oncology key decision makers. The position enables product access and advances AZ’s presence in the oncology/hematology market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in the VA/Federal Channel, Military Treatment Facility (MTF) and/or Veteran’s Administration experience
  • Understanding of pharmacy and patient journey within the VA, inclusive of clinical and pharmacy pathways within the MTF
  • Understanding of financial concepts, contracting issues, and pricing within the federal system
  • Ability to understand customer specific needs and identify resources and opportunities to partner around those needs in AZ oncology tumors
  • Demonstrated fluency in translating clinical outcomes and health economic data into customer value
  • Strong networking skills and ability to create avenues for access among restricted accounts or limited access facilities
  • Willingness to travel. Travel can be 75%+ depending on location

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years prior experience in oncology
  • 5-7 years of pharma and/or other healthcare related account management experience
  • Demonstrated fluency in Oncology clinical science
  • Prior experience in a pharma commercial B2B function within market access
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, and strong management skills
  • Demonstrated strategic planning capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Develop business relationships with VA Medical Center (VAMC) and DoD MTF leadership and oncology decision makers.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Federal healthcare ecosystem to provide effective account management.
  • Be proactive in identifying issues and challenges within the assigned accounts regarding product access.
  • Engage with Federal Pharmacy KOLs and other key collaborators on value proposition to ensure CFU (formulary) access at PCOEs and facilitate educational opportunities with VA HCPs.
  • Work with the VA NOAD to effectively communicate clinical and economic rationale for inclusion on formulary, CPU, PAs and Pathways at the VISN and facilities level.
  • This role will initially support promoted indications in Hematology and evolve to cover the broader AZ oncology portfolio.
