At Island Health, people are at the center of everything we do. As a part of the Oncology Specialty Care Nursing team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our mission to care for those who care for others. You’ll help create a positive and seamless experience for every team member — ensuring they feel valued, supported, and heard. The Oncology Nurse Navigator provides care coordination, patient education, and resource navigation for patients receiving evaluations, diagnosis, surgical treatment, or ongoing management of oncologic conditions within Island Health specialty and surgical services. The navigator serves as a consistent point of contact for patients and families, helping reduce barriers to timely, high-quality, patient-centered cancer care through coordination with internal and external providers. The Oncology Nurse Navigator collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, ancillary departments, social services, community agencies, and regional oncology partners to facilitate seamless transitions across the continuum of care. The position also assists patients with insurance navigation, financial assistance resources, and access to supportive services to help minimize barriers to treatment.
