About The Position

Bartlett Regional Hospital is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join their Oncology team. This is a full-time position. The role offers different levels of responsibility and pay, starting from Admin Assistant 1 (entry-level clerical and scheduling support) up to Admin Assistant 3 (senior administrative resource for high-level coordination, insurance pre-authorizations, data accuracy, and patient workflows). All new employees are required to produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the State of Alaska prior to the start of employment.

Requirements

  • Admin Assistant 1: High School Diploma or Equivalent, None years of experience.
  • Admin Assistant 2: High School Diploma or Equivalent, One year of clerical experience.
  • Admin Assistant 3: High School Diploma or Equivalent, Two (2) years of clerical experience.
  • Must produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the State of Alaska prior to the start of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Admin Assistant 1: Previous clerical or customer service preferred.
  • Admin Assistant 2: Previous clerical or customer service in a medical setting preferred.
  • Admin Assistant 3: Previous clerical or customer service in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides entry-level clerical and scheduling support in a clinical setting.
  • Assists with basic administrative tasks and supports the smooth operation of the front office under close supervision.
  • Performs a broad range of independent administrative and clerical duties across hospital departments.
  • Supports patient intake, records management, interdepartmental communication, and scheduling while ensuring compliance with procedures and privacy regulations.
  • Serves as a senior administrative resource responsible for high-level coordination of clinical operations, insurance pre-authorizations, data accuracy, and patient workflows.
  • Operates with substantial autonomy, contributes to training and quality control, and supports multi-departmental integration.
  • Performs high-level coordination, cross-functional scheduling, insurance pre-authorization, billing interface, training, and acts as a department liaison.
