About The Position

As our Implementation Specialist at Avalara, you will manage a diverse portfolio of customers through the end-to-end implementation of our tax compliance automation solutions. We are looking for project management skills, customer engagement, and collaboration skills to ensure seamless onboarding and solution adoption. You will report to the Director, Implementation Services. This position is remote in the United States. #LI-Remote

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business with an information systems or accounting focus. Equivalent practical experience in software implementation, ERP, or e‑commerce systems is also acceptable.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a focus on learning and professional growth.
  • Experience managing customer relationships
  • Embrace an AI-first approach, applying technology to enhance customer experiences and refine processes.
  • Familiarity with Sales and Use Tax concepts.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Jira, Gainsight, Troubleshooting & Ticketing Tools
  • Experience installing and configuring multiple ERPs, such as WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Sage, Dynamics, Salesforce, NetSuite, and QuickBooks.
  • Prior exposure to software implementation or experience in tax-related roles.
  • Knowledge of APIs

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple customer implementations, ensuring agreement on goals and industry best practices.
  • Guide customers through planning, configuration, and deployment of Avalara's tax automation suite.
  • Provide product training and end-user support to provide a successful go-live experience.
  • Monitor and document critical implementation milestones, deadlines, potential risks, and all related customer communications.
  • Be a primary contact for customer inquiries during onboarding, ensuring follow ups and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with partners to coordinate project deliverables, and main resources.
  • Report main implementation metrics, including task progress, target dates, risk indicators, and customer engagement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date implementation records in internal systems to support visibility and cross-departmental reporting.
  • Follow Avalara's standardized implementation procedures and best practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs and undertake additional tasks as assigned.
