About The Position

Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for an On-Site Service Engineer to be based fully on-site at Santa Clara, CA. The On-site Service Engineer provides frontline technical and troubleshooting support by addressing and resolving customer needs and requests. This role involves constant interaction with internal and external customers and requires the engineer to maintain engineering systems in a "demo"-ready state for customer demonstrations. The engineer will support customer-facing service activities, documentation, and deliver metrics for engineering systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field with 2+ years of medical devices experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in troubleshooting and performing HW/SW updates on medical devices.
  • 1+ years of experience in documentation for technical assessment, quality and compliance.
  • Previous experience using Linux (Ubuntu), running commands to perform updates.
  • Strong skills using power/specialized hand tools and electronic measuring instruments.
  • Expert communicator.
  • Superior critical thinking skills/Problem solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills, proficient in speaking and writing English.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred knowledge and experience using Microsoft Suite of applications (MS Dynamics 365).
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with external customers, co-workers and cross-functional team members.
  • Experience prioritizing, organizing and managing multiple projects under supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a group/team environment.
  • Ability to conceptualize, develop and manage timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Working under the supervision of the team leader to carry out technical mechanical, electrical, and SW related service activities and duties related to maintaining our engineering robotic systems fully functional.
  • Monitoring health of assigned robotic systems and report back to the team with any insights and feedback from our stakeholders.
  • Executing specific tasks including processing quality documentation.
  • Participating in process improvement discussions to increase team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Engaging in a continuous effort of learning and training to expand your knowledge of our robotics systems.
  • Working safely in a manufacturing environment and having the ability to follow all safety and hazard requirements.
  • Working with handheld and power tooling, keeping a record of tooling calibration.
