The On-Site Diesel Truck/Trailer Maintenance Technician is responsible for handling the logistical coordination of the organization’s DOT Regulated Vehicles, including Heavy Duty Diesel Tractor Trailer Units. Other duties include but are not limited to, performing periodic maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on dry vans, flatbeds, conestoga, and frameless dump trailers to ensure road readiness and safety compliance. The Tech may also perform DOT Annual Inspections, tire and wheel changes and flat tire repairs on trucks or trailers, lighting/electrical repairs, routine lubrications, brake adjustments, roof and structural repairs, door repairs, air system repairs, landing gear and other logistics business needs in all types of weather and conditions. The tech will also be responsible for maintaining a Service Truck and all tools in an orderly manner and will be responsible for maintaining a stockroom of parts, supplies, and tires. The On-Site Diesel Truck/Trailer Mechanic shall also create and maintain all associated documentation in adherence to legislation and organizational policies and procedures. In some circumstances, the On-Site Diesel Truck/Trailer Mechanic may be responsible for the safety requirements of the organization’s facilities and assets.
