About The Position

Operating entirely on revenue from game sales, rather than tax dollars, the Virginia Lottery generates more than $2.0 million per day for Virginia’s K-12 public schools. The Virginia Lottery also licenses and regulates casino gaming and mobile sports betting.

The Virginia Lottery, an independent state agency, is currently seeking an On-Premise Sales Consultant to grow, sell and market lottery products to social establishment retailers in the areas of Roanoke, Bristol, Danville, Wytheville, etc.

Requirements

• On-premise sales experience preferred
• Consumer packaged goods(CPG) experience preferred
• Experience in and knowledge of implementing sales, marketing, and merchandising programs
• Inventory management
• In-field or route sales experience in consumer products
• Training
• Customer relations and development
• New product introduction
• Territory management
• Use of automated ordering devices or computers
• Willing to live within 50 miles of the geographic area’s business center

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree
• Previous route sales & territory management experience
• Lottery experience is a plus
• A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications

Responsibilities

• Establishing and growing on-premise retailer network (restaurants, bars, taverns, etc.) through cold-calling and recruitment activities

• Scratcher ordering utilizing a tablet
• Inventory management
• Merchandising
• Implementing and monitoring retailer incentive and promotional programs
