About The Position

The On-Premise Business Development Representative is responsible for driving sales growth, distribution, and brand presence within bars, restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, and other on-premise accounts. This position focuses on building strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, executing promotional programs, and ensuring exceptional brand visibility to achieve sales objectives. The On-Premise Business Development Representative plays a critical role in expanding market share, increasing account penetration, and supporting supplier and company growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience in sales, business development, beverage alcohol, hospitality, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or a related industry.
  • Experience working with bars, restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, or other on-premise accounts preferred.
  • Proven ability to build customer relationships and achieve sales goals.
  • Knowledge of the beverage alcohol industry and on-premise sales environment preferred.
  • Strong business development and prospecting skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and customer service abilities.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales trends and identify growth opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting tools preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, supplier representatives, and customers.
  • Knowledge of beverage merchandising, promotional planning, and account development strategies.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Must maintain reliable transportation.
  • Ability to meet company vehicle safety and insurance requirements, if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with owners, managers, beverage directors, and key decision-makers within assigned on-premise accounts.
  • Drive sales growth through increased distribution, menu placements, tap handles, package placements, and promotional activations.
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities within assigned territories.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales goals, KPIs, and other performance targets.
  • Present new products, seasonal offerings, and promotional initiatives to customers.
  • Execute sales strategies designed to increase market share and account penetration.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective accounts and business development opportunities.
  • Track sales activities and provide regular reports to management.
  • Conduct regular account visits to assess performance, identify opportunities, and address customer needs.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication and superior service.
  • Ensure execution excellence within assigned accounts, including product visibility, promotional displays, and merchandising standards.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, concerns, and service issues.
  • Support customer retention efforts by delivering value-added solutions and business insights.
  • Maintain accurate records of account activities, sales performance, and customer interactions.
  • Execute sales and marketing programs to enhance brand awareness and consumer engagement.
  • Coordinate and support promotional activities, special events, tastings, and account activations.
  • Collaborate with supplier partners, marketing teams, and distributor personnel to ensure successful program execution.
  • Communicate brand priorities, promotional opportunities, and supplier initiatives to assigned accounts.
  • Monitor promotional effectiveness and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Analyze sales trends, account performance, and market conditions to identify growth opportunities.
  • Monitor competitive activity and provide market intelligence and recommendations to management.
  • Utilize sales data and reporting tools to evaluate account performance and prioritize business opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit accurate sales reports, account updates, and territory activity reports.
  • Assist management with forecasting and strategic planning initiatives as needed.
