The On Duty Supervisor is responsible for providing and directing fast, efficient Advanced Life Support to the ill and injured. This role involves directing, monitoring, communicating with, and evaluating all field employees in their assigned area. The supervisor acts as a liaison with patients, public safety agencies, training institutions, hospital personnel, and other system users. Key responsibilities include ensuring the maintenance of quality field operations through daily contact, oversight, communication, and evaluation, as well as ensuring the 100% reconciliation of PCRs and other field paperwork daily. The supervisor is also tasked with ensuring all operational response exceptions are brought to closure with appropriate action, providing staff counseling and guidance, and promptly investigating incidents involving assigned units or personnel. Additionally, they ensure adequate staffing, equipment, and medical supplies for field units, implement and enforce company policies, maintain communication with other agencies, serve on committees, prepare reports, manage projects, and maintain availability during disaster situations. The role also includes supervising, directing, and developing subordinates, conducting performance reviews, and championing affirmative action efforts.
