This role is for an On Duty Supervisor (ODS) on the night shift, responsible for providing and directing fast, efficient Advanced Life Support to the ill and injured. The supervisor will direct, monitor, communicate with, and evaluate all field employees in their assigned area. This position involves acting as a liaison with patients, public safety agencies, training institutions, hospital personnel, and other system users. The supervisor ensures the maintenance of quality field operations through daily contact, oversight, communication, and evaluation. A key responsibility is ensuring that all Patient Care Reports (PCRs) and other field paperwork are 100% reconciled daily, and that all operational response exceptions are brought to closure with appropriate action. The role also includes providing staff counseling and guidance regarding PEMS operations, promptly investigating incidents involving assigned units or personnel, and ensuring adequate levels of staffing, equipment, and medical supplies for field units. The supervisor will implement and enforce company policies and standards, maintain communication with other agencies and departments, and serve on committees with other departments to set policies and generate ideas. They will also prepare reports and manage projects as assigned by the Operations Manager or Director of Operations, and maintain availability during disaster situations or mass casualty incidents. The position requires attending scheduled meetings as required by the Operation Manager and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws and company policies. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for supervising, directing, and developing subordinates, including completing performance reviews, counseling sessions, and mentoring employees. They will also champion affirmative action efforts and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures. The supervisor may prepare employee evaluations and field crew contact reports, and must maintain strict compliance with all Pafford Policies & Procedures and all rules and regulations set forth by state and federal programs. The role may involve performing related duties or tasks as assigned and following 5 daily directives. The supervisor will direct PEMS resources during mass casualty/disaster operations.
