About The Position

Hillcrest Thrift is seeking a dependable and flexible On-Call Thrift Associate to support daily store operations as needed. This position is on-call only, meaning you will be contacted to work based on the store's staffing needs and must be available when called upon. The ideal candidate is adaptable, customer-focused, and capable of performing a variety of tasks throughout the store.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow written instructions, safety procedures, job aids, and company policies, and to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and volunteers.
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work on short notice.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, standing, bending, etc.).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if needed.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior retail, customer service, or thrift store experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Respond to on-call work requests and report to work promptly when scheduled.
Perform a variety of store duties as assigned, including but not limited to: Production (Sorting, pricing, and preparing donated items for sale), Sales Floor (Stocking merchandise, organizing displays, maintaining cleanliness and order), Cashiering (Operating the register, handling transactions, and providing excellent customer service), Greeter (Welcoming customers, offering assistance, and maintaining a friendly store atmosphere), Dock Attendant (Assisting with donation intake, unloading, sorting, and ensuring a clean and safe dock area).
Follow all safety, donation, and store policies and procedures.
Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working with staff, volunteers, and customers.
Assist in other duties as assigned by management.
