Substitute (On Call): Possible regular hours
About The Position
The Schoolhouse Learning Center in South Burlington seeks to add staff to our substitute list for preschool-8th grade students in our nature- and play-based program, with the possibility of extending the job to having regularly scheduled shifts. Candidates should enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors in all weather, exploring, and teaching children about the natural world, as well as supporting a social-justice focused curriculum. This is a wonderful position for a college student, retiree, or anyone exploring an interest in teaching/education. As a substitute, you will receive phone calls either the morning of the opening or in advance for staff planned absences. If the shift works for you, that's great, and if it doesn't, we will contact you with the next opening. The Schoolhouse Learning Center is an approved independent school (K-8th grade) and licensed child care center that has provided quality programs for more than 50 years. Schoolhouse programs nurture each child’s innate curiosity and encourage independence of mind and resourcefulness. Families are a vital part of our community and are invited to be actively involved in our programs at all levels.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- Willingness to complete a background check including fingerprints.
Nice To Haves
- Some experience working with young children is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Respond to calls for substitute teaching assignments for preschool-8th grade students.

- Complete Mandated Reporter Training (can do on the job).
