About The Position

Kitsap Community Resources is seeking a dependable On-Call Security Guard to support evening programs, community events, and special gatherings throughout the year. This role helps create a welcoming, organized, and comfortable environment for guests, volunteers, staff, and community members attending our events. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with the public, values community engagement, and can respond calmly and professionally in a variety of situations. The On-Call Security Guard provides security support for Kitsap Community Resources' Bremerton facilities during evening events and programs. This position maintains a visible presence, monitors facility and grounds activity, assists with event operations, and helps promote a safe, welcoming, and organized environment for participants, volunteers, staff, and visitors. The On-Call Security Guard exercises sound judgment, provides excellent customer service, and interacts professionally and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED plus three years experience in security or related field or AA degree plus one years experience
  • Ability to pass State and/or Federal Background Checks as determined as determined by position (prior to hire date).
  • Position requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, twisting, and bending
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Cognitive ability to recognize and address safety concerns
  • Must be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions
  • Requires accuracy, good judgment, and the ability to remain calm and provide appropriate advice and information

Responsibilities

  • Reports to and schedules work assignments with the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
  • Demonstrates success in working both independently and under direction.
  • Make appropriate log entries as required.
  • Make security checks before leaving and after entering the building.
  • Setting and unsetting appropriate security alarms.
  • Keeping clients in authorized areas.
  • Arrange chairs and tables as assigned.
  • Turn off and on appropriate lights.
  • Turn off all appropriate appliances.
  • Enforce KCR (no smoking policy) by informing client of designated smoking area.
  • Ask nicely and respectfully for any unauthorized persons to leave.
  • Call 911 when appropriate.
  • Keep all participants, volunteers, staff, and visitors safe.
  • Accepts other duties as assigned.
