Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET) required.
• Valid CPR, First Aid, and ProAct certifications are required within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in a social science field preferred.
• Six (6) months of direct care experience in a mental health setting preferred. (A non-professional, consumer-directed internship may be substituted.)
• Valid California Driver’s License and eligibility to meet agency driving criteria preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting clients with daily living skills, including eating, personal hygiene, grooming, and other care needs.
• Monitors attendance and encourages participation in activities and therapeutic programs using positive motivation and support.
• Helps lead group activities and outings, promotes positive social interaction among clients, and serves as a positive role model.
• Maintains accurate documentation of client participation and responses in the medical record.
• Participates in treatment team meetings as needed.
