About The Position

ICF seeks an on-call Lead Research Analyst to work within our Child and Family Well-Being (CFWB) Line of Business. This role partners with the project manager in executing education research, evaluation, and compliance review projects. The Lead Research Analyst will bring deep expertise in research and evaluation methods, education policy, and project management to guide project teams, ensure rigorous and timely work, and support the overall success of our initiatives. Key Responsibilities As a Lead Research Analyst, you will be responsible for effectively leading technical work with minimal oversight and maintaining positive relationships with clients and colleagues. Key project tasks may include: Adhering to project schedules and managing the work of project team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and with strong methodological rigor. Determining whether sufficient evidence exists to demonstrate compliance with government laws and policies, applying established criteria and professional judgment. Conducting quality checks on compliance ratings and justifications, and completing additional reviews and reconciliation when discrepancies arise across reviewers. Conducting onsite compliance reviews, including document reviews and verification activities, to assess adherence to state requirements.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or Doctorate) in Education, Public Policy, Social Science or a related discipline
  • 15+ years of education research and evaluation experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading staff on research and evaluation efforts

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment, taking full ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables.
