About The Position

ABM is seeking a reliable and experienced On-Call Janitorial Cleaner to perform cleaning duties across assigned facilities, helping maintain a clean, safe, orderly, and sanitary workplace. The role serves employees, clients, and visitors and may involve covering locations from San Jose, California, to Mountain View, California.

The position pays $20.25 per hour. Shifts are Monday through Friday, with weekends as needed, and may be either 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.–2:30 a.m. The cleaner must be flexible to work either shift as needed. ABM describes this as a good job for someone entering or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or general cleaning roles is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Flexibility to work either the 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.–2:30 a.m. shift as needed.
• Flexibility to cover locations from San Jose, California, to Mountain View, California.

• Previous janitorial, custodial, or general cleaning experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing floors and surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, and ensure hygiene standards are met.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste in accordance with company policies.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
• Maintain and properly store cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the supervisor.
• Assist with setup and cleanup for meetings, events, or special projects as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company protocols related to cleaning and sanitation.
