About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for an On Call Emergency Management Specialist, Response to work out of Guam. Emergency management cadre positions are on-call and assignments are on an as-needed basis. Cadre members are not eligible for benefits. Cadre members are asked for a 30-day commitment; availability to deploy with little to no advance notice (typically within 24-48 hours); and during deployments, ability to potentially work 8-12 hours/day; 7 days/week. This role supports Emergency Management team in servicing clients preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters nationwide and in US territories. The specialist will deploy to Emergency Operations Center and/or Field Staging Area operations prior to, during, and post-disaster. They will perform a variety of duties including logistics, supply, cost/documentation and/or resource unit functions. Periodic training throughout the year is required to maintain deployment eligibility. The role also supports Emergency Management Project Management functions. The specialist must exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities may be required by business needs.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma.
  • 7+ years experience, including 1+ years in an Emergency Management role (Response, Recovery or related), or equivalent.
  • Broad knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook (Email), Word, and Excel.
  • FEMA Emergency Management Institute Independent Study - Professional Development Series certification.
  • Must be able to deploy to disaster area, with little or no advance notice and potentially for long durations up to a minimum of 30 days.
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Emergency Management (or related field).
  • Asset Management and Supply Logistical Operational Experience.
  • Previous experience working at Field Staging Areas or state Emergency Operations Center or related environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting tools.
