About The Position

The On-Call Driver will provide driver coverage for the Heavy-Duty Department during vacation, sick leave, injury coverage, and other temporary driver absences. Hours are dependent on operational need. Requirements

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license, MANUAL TRANSMISSION REQUIRED
• Previous delivery or commercial driving experience.
• Ability to safely operate company vehicles and follow transportation procedures.
• Dependable, flexible, and able to adjust to changing operational needs.
• Ability to lift, move, load, and unload freight as required.
• Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while following direction from the Heavy-Duty Manager.
• Winter and chain up experience
• Clean drivers abstract

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned delivery routes based on operational needs.
• Support store deliveries, transfers, replenishment, and other transportation requirements.
• Load and unload freight safely while following company procedures.
• Ensure freight is properly secured before departure.
• Complete required paperwork, delivery documentation, and return documentation accurately.
• Communicate delays, service issues, equipment concerns, or route challenges to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
• Follow all company safety policies, transportation procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain a professional and service-focused approach when dealing with stores, DC teams, and internal departments.
• Assist with transfer returns, empties, and freight movement as required during coverage periods.
